Turnkey Rural Tourism Business and Eco Retreat Space Near Aljezur
The Lemon Lodge is a well-established rural hospitality business set on approximately 3.6 hectares of private pine forest and orchard just outside Aljezur. Located only ten minutes from the town and fifteen minutes from the West Coast beaches, the property offers complete privacy while remaining easily accessible. It presents a rare opportunity to acquire a fully operational, profitable accommodation business combined with residential comfort and future expansion potential.
The property operates with a transferable Alojamento Local (AL) license and demonstrates an impressive 86% historical occupancy rate, supported by repeat guests and strong brand visibility. The business benefits from SuperHost status on Airbnb and an outstanding 9.7 average rating on Booking.com, reflecting consistent guest satisfaction and operational quality.
The estate includes two fully equipped rental units, and extensive outdoor facilities designed for wellness and retreat experiences. A 60m² stone house with wooden extension, one bedroom, and private terrace offers additional residential flexibility.
Outdoor amenities elevate the guest experience and support retreat or wellness concepts. Features include a panoramic yoga deck, tipi and outdoor kitchen, wood-fired sauna, and a saltwater plunge pool with sun deck. The land also includes an animal paddock with shelter, greenhouse, and productive fruit orchard.
The property is fully equipped with sustainable off-grid infrastructure. A solar energy system includes 16 panels of 350W and four 4.4kW lithium batteries. Water security is ensured by two boreholes (one active at 70m depth with abundant supply, one at 25m currently inactive) and approximately 75,000 liters of storage capacity. Gas bottles supply cooking and hot water.
In addition to its proven performance, the property offers up to 500m² of additional tourism construction potential, creating clear scope for expansion or repositioning.
The Lemon Lodge has achieved consistent year-on-year financial growth, supported by strong occupancy, repeat clientele, and significant international media exposure. The brand has been featured in publications such as Vogue, Residence, Designescapes, Yoga Magazine, Jan Magazine, Happinez, Jo and So, Barts Boekje, Staf Magazine, and multiple print features including “Press Pause.” Its Instagram presence of approximately 8,500 followers further reinforces its market positioning.
This is a turnkey opportunity suited for investors seeking a profitable rural tourism asset, lifestyle buyers relocating to the Algarve, or entrepreneurs looking to operate an established retreat business with immediate cash flow and expansion potential.
